Forests donated 500 trees to the Yriapu

The once massive Interior Atlantic Rainforest (Mata Atlantica) in South America is an ecosystem of which only 7% remains. This beautiful jungle is home to the Aurucaria and Palmito trees, the Tamarind Monkey, the Harpy Eagle and the Green Corridor that links the Urugua-i and Foerster State Parks.

The Atlantic Rainforest extends along the southern coast of Brazil and inland into Misiones, Argentina and Paraguay. Half of Misiones Province in Argentina remains forested, 13% of the original interior Atlantic Forest survives in Paraguay, and Brazil has clear cut most of it.
Our forest conservation project is located in the small jungle neighborhood of Maria Soledad, Misiones Province, Argentina, just three hours away by bus from the majestic Iguazu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
